Prepare for hidden fees, fine print and low to medium quality work. There's always some extra "shop fee", administration fee" or "environmental fee". So ask for an out the door price.

When my truck was new I bought a package that was over $800. Three hours later my truck was done. Wait, you did all that in three hours? It sounded like an extensive project when you described it? Turns out they buffed up over the plastic on the hood and around the door handles (leaving it cloudy looking) missed areas with the undercoating and the leather protectant, then treated me like a problem customer for bringing it to their attention. I'm just saying, for that kind of money into a brand new vehicle I'd expect a little better work and attention to detail. I really want to like this service and know my truck's going to last a long time, but it seems like more of a gimmick than an investment.

That was three years ago. I use my truck for work and can't always plan my schedule in advance. So I got busy and missed a year on my annual update. I knew that would void my rust warranty, but no bid deal. The kick in the butt came when I found out I now have to pay full price for the package again, no $285 service update...wish I'd known that (fine print). Anyway, I'm done with 'em.

Keeping a car in shape should be enjoyable and something to take pride in, but this feels like I'm dealing with a cell phone company - always trying to pinch another dime out of you.
